Sorry...

Sorry, not many posts lately...
I've worked for three weeks, and haven't found any time to continu working on the mini-server. But the upcoming week I've a lot more time, and I think that the release of the new mini-server is very close now. In fact, the main program is as good as finished, but I have to make the website for the online services. I think when the new mini-server is released the online service is in a very simple state, so you can only check the status of your dedicated server.

More news after sunday...!

Finally many progress!

Finally a day with many progress. As you can see in this topic, the new mini-server contains an "Online" function. With this function you can check the server's status online via a website. If you wish, you can also receive an email if one of the services (Apache and PHP) or both the services are stopped. In this way you're always up-to-date if your server runs dedicated.
In the future there will maybe some more functions, only for now I don't exactly know more ;)
So if you have any suggestions, just tell me!

I've also fixed some more little things, not worthy to mention. Anyway, the new mini-server is going to be a big-mini-server this way ;). But I'm not forgetting the users that just want to test eyeOS. If you start the server in "normal mode" (without the -dedicated switch), they have a simple, working eyeOS mini Server, with update function. No strange things with online services happens.

Cheers for now!

Finally fixed that nasty bug!

Wow, there has been some progress!
The nasty little bug of only installing to C:\eyeOSminiServer has been solved!
The miniserver gives Apache with every restart a new, updated config
file, so the miniserver works on all drives, in every directory tree!
So from now on, you can choose where you want to "install" the miniserver!

Also, I'm adding some new dedicated server functions. More about it soon!

Woohoa!

Yes! My PC is working again! And so is Visual Studio ;)
So I hope I can now make some more progress in writing the new
mini-server. Still need bèta testers!

Now the bad news: I have to work tomorrow. (Aaaaah!) So not many
progress will be there these first few days of a fresh week.

Cya!

Not many progress today...

Well, today wasn't a very good day for me. Not only trouble at school,
but also my Windows XP installation of my developing machine is
screwed up. So I have to fix that first, before I can continu...
Nothing to worry about, but it takes some time.

And then, where are the bèta testers? I haven't found enough testers yet..
So if YOU want to test the whole NEW miniserver,
just add me at MSN: "msn @ eyeos.nl" (without the quotes).
I will send you the beta a.s.a.p.
Your reward? Your name at the "About" screen. And believe me, with
over 10.000 download per month, there are users that read the "About" screen!

Well, that's all the news I have folks!
Tristan.

Command line arguments!

I've reached a new milestone: command line arguments! ;)

You can now say to disable the startup of FireFox or say the server have
to run as a dedicated one. I will soon give more details about
that "Dedicated" part, as I'm now developing the basics of it.
You can say that it can be used to turn every PC in a webserver,
dedicated to eyeOS :)

Tomorrow I have to work
the whole day, so I don't expect much progress then,
but you may never know!

More news soon!

Welcome!

Welcome to the eyeOS mini Server Weblog!
First, excuse my bad English. If you see some wrong lines, just reply ;)

Next, on this weblog I will update all the progress I made with the mini-server. I think the second post will follow shortly after this one, because I'm working on the mini-server this very moment.

Well, thats all for now, please come back soon to check more progress.

Tristan.
